Somebody's Jake
I've been absent here again. I'm reading but not posting. I can't usually post from work because any hours I work are expected to be billed to clients - and I can't very well bill clients for my web funnery. And I don't make time in the evenings for posting. So there you have it.
Thing is I keep thinking of things I want to share - but never make time to share them.
Hope everyone's new years are going smoothly. I can't believe it's 2007 already.

I'd wish for snow if the windshield wiper fluid pump on my car was working. That and I kind of feel like if I met this fella in person I'd run away screaming.

This is no ordinary drawing of an apple, oh no...

recycled flyers
I've been regularly irritated by the amount of junk mail/ fliers/ ad-papers that we keep getting via the post so I've decided to do something useful with it. This my friends is my first batch of recycled paper.
It was created using a blender, an old picture frame with a pair of pantyhose stretched over it and a good deal of improvisation. But tomorrow I'm taking a trip to the hardware store to get some decent supplies to whip up some more, oh yes.

From the pavement I could see that the lady had ran out onto the roof of the building to escape the horde that chased her. I saw her look to the edge and anticipated her plan and the ill fate of it. I could hear shouts from the swarm but could not see thier faces. She ran, pushing up one sleeve on her oversized sweater in preparation for scaling the edge. I saw her turn toward her attackers, wobble on the edge for barely a second before stumbling backward off the ledge. I looked away before she hit the pavement and then back again to see the outcome. As she writhed on the ground I wondered if she had remembered to cover her head during the fall.

Somebody's Jake
I've been busy, busy lately. I'm working full time now (indefinitely) and my free time has been squeezed down to an ounce a day.

September flew by thanks to the entertainment of friends, guests visiting from the U.K., a trip to New York with our delightful guests Verian, his wife, and son, a whale watching adventure with Andy's brother and sister-in-law, a mountain climbing adventure with our local friends (the beautiful and intrepid kristenlou), and some lazing around the apartment.

Today we're going into Boston to browse the shops and get a meal with an old friend of Andy's.

On a completely unrelated note: After hearing an advertisement in my car on the way to work I was struck with a morbid thought. I fear that thousands/millions of years from now if/when humanity has snuffed itself (not that I feel like we ought to - because I would rather we didn't) aliens are going to visit this planet, find a copy of Jack Ass II, and think to themselves, "Well, that must about sum it up for the human race".
